Although it has a good story line and the characters were well developed, I thought this story was too similar to twilight and true blood. I really love Ollie she had some funny parts in the book and I love the connection se had with Lucien. Samantha's character was a little frustrating because it seemed like she was too closed off but I guess it's understandable with everything she went through then being a single mother. Lucien, what can I say he was such a gentleman by not crossing the line with Sam and taking him time. The pain and grief he was going through was so sad having to go through life alone and suffering the loss if your wife and children.

Again this was a good story but I wasn't impressed it was like reading about twilight and true blood mixed together. I really tried to get into the story and really tried to like it but I just couldn't I kept reading because I was hoping something would change. It kind of sucks because I really love Laura Kaye's stories I'm a big fan but this book was a little disappointing it was the same in some parts of the book. It's not bad of a read but not sure if its recommendable honestly this really was twilight and true blood gone pg 13 lol.
Forever Freed by Laura Kaye Exciting, suspenseful, hopeful and heartwarming are a few words to describe how I felt reading this story. Lucien is a vampire who hates being a monster. He feels guilty for what happened to his human family and has spent his immortal life punishing himself. He meets a little girl named Ollie, and then later, her mother Samantha. Ollie sees that Lucien is special, and Lucien is drawn to her curiosity. He is also drawn to the feelings of happiness and joy Samantha emits. For the first time in his immortal existence, Lucien allows himself to feel those same feelings and embarks on a relationship with Samantha and Ollie, who are both human. But can he protect them from the "evil" that exists in his world?

I love reading paranormal romances and Forever Freed is definitely a page-turner. Laura Kaye writes such interesting and realistic characters. Lucien is dark, brooding and yet such a sexy gentleman! Samantha is a caring and strong single mother who is not afraid to get what she wants...from Lucien. ) Ollie is adorable and smart and certainly steals the story and your heart!

I have also read Laura Kaye's "Hearts in Darkness" which I also enjoyed.
This story had me hooked from the first page and didn't let me go till the very end and still I want more. Lucien, the main character is tormented and beautiful and his love interest Sam, the second main character is moving and all giving, and wow Ollie, Sam's daughter, what a well written child character. I'm so hooked on Laura Kaye, I will forever read anything and everything she writes. First i read "Hearts in Darkness" and was blown away by her writing, absolutely LOVED the story and couldn't wait to find out if there were other books by Laura Kaye and was so happy to find "Forever Freed" and bought it right away. Read it in 3 sittings and LOVED IT!!! Please, Ms. Kaye, please, consider writing a sequel to this wonderful book. I'm so invested in the characters would so like for Catherine to have her very own HEA too, she's so deserving and kind and wouldn't mind continuing on to see how Lucien, Sam, Ollie, and the rest of Lucien's wonderful family deal with having humans in their everyday family lives. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and talent with us. For anyone who loves paranormal romance stories, this book will satisfy your deepest emotions. It had my heart thumping throughout the entire book and had me crying and with its heart wrenching final chapters. I'm so freaking in love with this book as well as Hearts in Darkness that I'm positive I will re-read them both a few times for sure. Do yourself a favor and just buy and read both of Laura's books you'll be so happy you did!
This tale is told from the male vampire's POV.
